Cheryl Lyn's Rescue Organisation

Cheryl Lyn's Rescue Organisation Please donate towards vet bills & food! Cheryl-Lyn eventually won the dog's trust and was able to rescue, medically treat and rehabilitate her.

Our aim is to rescue, rehabilitate, re-home and provide the best care possible for neglected & abused animals, bringing them back to health, both mentally physically. Our journey starts with an abused, neglected and lost mixed breed stray female dog, living in the bushes near Melkbosstrand, which nobody could manage to get near enough, to assist her. In an attempt to gain the dog's trust and then

rescue it, Cheryl-Lyn Potgieter lived in the bushes, on her own, for 3 months, putting out food and water each day. That scared, neglected and abused dog was renamed Daisy and now spends her days helping Cheryl-Lyn taking care of the rescued newcomers until they are strong enough to be re homed.

🌍 FROM OVERSEAS TO OUR FOOD BOWLS: AN R8,000 MIRACLE! 🌍

My heart is absolutely racing, and I am standing here over the moon with pure, unadulterated gratitude! God's timing is truly undeniable. 😭🐾✨Today, I ran into a lovely lady named Leonora in Table View. She is a wonderful previous donor to Cheryl Lyn's Rescue Organisation, so I stopped to chat with her. During our conversation, she shared some breathtakingly exciting news with me.Two amazing individuals living overseas—Veronica LA Shure and Craig Miller—had reached out and donated a spectacular R8,000 to be used toward absolutely anything our furkids needed! 🕊️❤️When Leonora told me this, I was completely speechless. The reality is, we were down to our absolute last single day of dog food on the farm. The pressure was immense. I immediately requested that the funds go directly toward food to fill our empty bowls. 🥣💔Thanks to their incredible generosity, I was able to drive straight to Pet's on Centre in Table View and collect a massive 27 × 20kg bags of dog food! Our precious furkids are sleeping tonight with full, happy bellies, and a mountain of worry has been lifted off my shoulders. 🚚🐕Veronica and Craig, even though you are oceans away, your kindness has directly saved 180 dogs from going hungry today. Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts for your immense generosity!Lastly, a deeply heartfelt thank you to the wonderful Leonora, who also blessed me with a personal cash donation for anything I needed. You are all absolute rescue angels! 🙏🌟 ❤️🐾

An Honest Update: Choosing Faith Over Negativity In Our Darkest Hour. This evening, I received a very unpleasant phone call that has left me deeply shaken and upset. When I answered, the person on the other end immediately demanded to know what is happening with the farm. They asked me why I am still helping dogs when I know the property is on the matket, and told me that I need to stop taking them in and simply get rid of the animals.I was extremely upset, and I asked her directly: where is your faith? I cannot and will not just give up on these animals. I have always been completely honest with all of you. I have had countless sleepless nights worrying myself sick about what is going to happen to these innocent souls. The thought of all our hard work crumbling, or ending up on the street with nowhere to go, is terrifying. It is a weight that feels impossible to bear at times, and dealing with heartless negativity right now is the absolute last thing I need.I have given my entire life to these animals. I have given up everything to ensure that every broken soul that walks through our gates is looked after, loved, and turned from sadness to happiness. Even in the midst of this crisis, we have successfully processed 17 adoptions in the last month and a half alone. But when an emergency call comes in for a dog in desperate need, I do not have the heart to just walk away. Some people out there may be heartless, but I choose to hold onto my positivity and pursue a miracle to protect our animals. To the rest of our incredible community, to everyone who is standing firmly by my side through this storm, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I see you, I hear you, and I appreciate every single thing you have done and continue to do for our furkids. Your love and faith are what keeps me going.

A Heartbreaking Rescue in Mamre While Our Own Clock Ticks AwayYesterday, I was called out to Mamre for an emergency that completely broke my heart. I discovered two heavily emaciated dogs who have been neglected to an unimaginable degree. Both were absolutely riddled with fleas, ticks, and severe mange. The mother has painful lumps all over her legs, and her daughter is a walking skeleton of skin and bone, having lost almost all of her hair. They were so desperately hungry that they were trying to eat hard pellets just to survive.I managed to safely catch the mother, but the terrified daughter ran away into hiding. Because the owner is home today, I am driving back tomorrow morning to rescue her and bring her to safety. It is deeply painful to see how anyone could allow innocent animals to get to this point, but I refuse to turn my back on them. The terrifying reality is that while these emergency calls never stop, our own time on the farm is running out. Today is the official auction date for our property, and we still do not have a permanent place to go. My 194 animals are my absolute priority, and they depend on me for everything.Financially, we are completely at a loss. We just spent R6,000 on dog food, which only lasts our large rescue family for six days, and it is already almost finished. My personal funds are entirely depleted from keeping this organisation afloat. On top of the food crisis, we urgently need to pay our dedicated staff members their salaries, and we are in desperate need of parasite treatments, including tick and flea products and dewormers. We are in desperare need of a spare tyre and a jack we have received a rim to fit the tyre. I hate asking for financial help, but I am pleading for our animals. If you can help us with food, medication, or by contributing to our staff funds, please step forward. And please, keep sharing our BackaBuddy link far and wide so we can find a permanent safe haven.
