This International Pride Month, Langa Community Advice Services stands in solidarity with LGBTQI+ communities in South Africa and around the world.

Pride Month is an opportunity to celebrate diversity, affirm human dignity, and promote the values of equality, respect, and inclusion. It is also a reminder that every person deserves to live free from discrimination, violence, and prejudice.

As an organization committed to access to justice and human rights, we believe that our communities are stronger when everyone is treated with dignity and afforded equal opportunities regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

Today, representatives from Langa Community Advice Services attended the Langa Together Reflection Imbizo held at Langa Community Hall. It was inspiring to witness young community leaders actively participating in disaster risk management, community coordination, and efforts to build safer and more resilient communities in Langa.

We congratulate all the volunteer marshals who presented their Disaster Risk Assessment findings and received certificates for their dedication and hard work. Your commitment to protecting and serving the community is highly appreciated and gives hope for the future of community-led disaster preparedness.

We also appreciate the remarks made by Alderman JP Smith, City of Cape Town MMC for Safety and Security and PR Councillor for Langa, who emphasized the critical role that community-based structures play in strengthening safety, disaster response, and community development.

Langa Community Advice Services is honoured to have partnered with the Langa Together initiative and we remain committed to supporting programmes that empower communities, promote active citizenship, and build stronger partnerships for positive change in Langa.

We thank the organisers, partners, volunteers, community stakeholders, and all participants for making the Imbizo a success.

📢 NOTICE: LAW CLINIC UPDATE

The Langa Community Advice Services Law Clinic scheduled for this month will proceed; however, we wish to inform community members that our usual partner from the Master’s Office of the Western Cape High Court will unfortunately not be able to attend this month due to unforeseen office challenges.

We also extend our heartfelt condolences to the Office of the Master on the passing of Adv P Seetal. Our thoughts are with the family, colleagues, and the institution during this difficult time.

Please note that our Law Clinic continues as scheduled every 2nd Wednesday of the month, and we remain committed to assisting the community with legal advice, guidance, and referrals.

We look forward to welcoming our partners back at the next session.
