Sometimes, a hero doesn't wear a cape.
Sometimes, a hero is sitting in a wheelchair with a cat carrier strapped to the back...determined to help someone else.
Meet Moegamat.
Moegamat travelled all the way from Hanover Park to our hospital, bringing his elderly neighbour's cat to us for sterilisation.
He could have stayed home.
He could have said, โI have enough challenges of my own.โ
But he didn't.
He chose to help.
Despite facing struggles of his own, Moegamat continues to make a difference in his community.
He helps elderly and vulnerable members of his community by bringing their cats to us for sterilisation and primary health care.
He doesn't do it for recognition.
He doesn't do it for praise.
He does it because he cares.
And that is what makes his story so incredibly special. ๐ฅน
Moegamat is proof that you don't need much to make a massive difference. You simply need a heart that cares and the determination to keep going.
But today, we want to help the man who spends his time helping everyone else.
๐ We are reaching out to individuals, companies and businesses who may be able to help Moegamat with a more comfortable and suitable wheelchair.
Something that will make his daily life easier.
Something that will give him greater comfort and independence.
Something that will help him continue being the incredible community hero that he is.
He has spent so much time helping others. Now it's our turn to help him.
Moegamat, you may not realise just how much you inspire us.
You are showing your community and all of us that your circumstances don't have to define your ability to make a difference.
You keep moving forward.
You keep helping.
You keep caring.
And because of you, animals are getting the help they need and people in your community are not being forgotten.
South Africa needs more people like Moegamat.
Let's come together and give back to a man who has given so much of himself to others.
