UCT Palestine Solidarity Forum

UCT Palestine Solidarity Forum The UCT Palestine Solidarity Forum is a student organisation committed to promoting justice, human rights, liberation, and self-determination for Palestine

The UCT Palestine Solidarity Forum is a secular, non-racial, non-sexist student organisation committed to democratic principles in order to promote justice, human rights, liberation, and self-determination for the Palestinian people. The UCT PSF believes that the Palestinian people must ultimately be able to decide their future in Palestine and that human rights and basic standards of justice are

prerequisites to a just resolution of the plight of the Palestinians. We identify with the struggles of Palestinians within Israel, in the illegally Occupied Territories, and in the diaspora. As a South African student organistion we are driven to engage in this struggle because of the parallels we see between South Africa’s history of discrimination and dispossession and the Israeli colonial Apartheid regime. We support the nonviolent campaign of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions as a means of international solidarity. Just as the UCT PSF condemns the discrimination underlying the policies and laws of the state of Israel, the UCT PSF rejects and condemns any form of hatred or discrimination against any religious, racial, or ethnic group. Rooting its strength in the diversity of its membership, the UCT PSF welcomes individuals of all ethnic and religious backgrounds to join in solidarity with the struggle for justice in Palestine.
