⚠️ REMINDER: Temporary Closure of Lion’s Head Jeep Track ⚠️

The public is reminded that the Jeep Track at Lion’s Head remains temporarily closed to facilitate essential maintenance work.

📅 Project Timeline:

• Closure in effect: 20 April 2026 – 20 June 2026 (subject to weather and project progress)
• Machinery will be transported to site on 28 April 2026
• Maintenance work will commence on 29 April 2026

Due to the complex terrain, work is expected to take up to 2 months or less, as the area cannot accommodate large volumes of machinery at once.

🚫 Access:
The Jeep Track remains closed to the public during this period.

🥾 Alternative routes to Lion’s Head Summit remain open:
• Kramat Trail (Signal Hill Road)
• Upper Rhine Road Trail
• Kloof Road Trail

🅿️ Parking:
Lion’s Head parking area remains available for those using the Kramat route.

This maintenance project is aimed at improving trail safety and enhancing the overall visitor experience.

We urge all visitors to adhere to signage and safety instructions while work is underway.

The Hikers Network, as part of our Memorandum of Understanding with CapeNature, is participating in trail cleaning, trail safety, and audit initiatives on the Kromriver trail, providing patrol services and assistance, acting as the eyes and ears on the trail.
