Western Cape Transplant Sports Association We provide, through sports and physical activities, an info and support network for transplant recipients in the Western Cape.

Our vision as a purpose-driven sports organisation is to be a leader in optimising the quality of life of organ transplant recipients, and through sports and other physical activities, promote organ donation and transplantation. From the time that the Western Cape Transplant Sports Association was constituted as an affiliate of the South African Transplant Sports Association in 2014, it has been the objective to become a part of the larger Western Cape sports community and to get people who have received an organ transplant, to return to active sports participation.

What an incredible experience for our Western Cape athletes at the 16th National Transplant Games! 🏅💚

We returned home with wonderful memories, new friendships and, thankfully, no serious injuries. At the NTG Gala Dinner in Pretoria, 32 participation medals were proudly awarded to our Western Cape team.

As a participant myself, I was reminded that these Games are about so much more than sport. They are about celebrating second chances, honouring the incredible gift of our donors, reconnecting with old friends and forming new friendships with people who truly understand the transplant journey.

Most of all, they are a celebration of life and the remarkable things that can be achieved after organ transplantation. Michelle Luscombe -chairperson.

❤️ RUNNING WITH PURPOSE.

Every runner has a reason for being at Hangklip.

For some, it’s a PB.
For others, it’s the challenge.
For some, it’s simply crossing that finish line.

And for two very special runners, it’s a reminder of just how far you can go.

We know of two transplant patients taking on Hangklip this year. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️❤️

That’s what makes this race about more than kilometres.

With SA Transplant as our beneficiary, we’re running for something bigger. We’re running for purpose. We’re running for lives changed.

So when your legs get tired, remember:

You’re not just running a race. You’re running for something.
