Surfshack Outreach

Surfshack Outreach SurfShack Outreach is supported by Choose2Care Surf Outreach NPC with the aim to create opportunity We’re showing the children another way out. Good and bad.

Surfshack Outreach believes that if our beautiful rainbow nation is to fulfil the legacy left to us by Nelson Mandela then we the people have to reach out a helping hand and embrace the children of our Nation to create hope and opportunity for a brighter tomorrow.By providing a passion for surfing and a healthy and safe environment in which to educate and nurture, Surfshack is taking a holistic ap

proach to child development. We incorporate a programme of education, surfing, and creative arts as tools for the children and youth we serve, to seize the opportunities created to break the shackles of poverty. And growing a better, a gentler, hope-filled new generation of children. A generation with a true and unhindered choice between right and wrong. Failure or success. So they don’t grow up being victims of circumstance. But instead victors over their circumstance. Right on our doorsteps, are the Cape Flats, Townships filled with children who will find nothing waiting for them but hopelessness. These are places where frustration and anger thrive. Where gangsters can have their pick of new understudies because the light of hope is hardly anywhere to be seen. We believe it is unacceptable that children who have no control over their environment are left to grow up in poverty, with little opportunity or hope to rise to greatness, to succeed and to fulfil their dreams. Through the attraction surfing we have been able to reach a number of children from local communities who want to take control over their own destinies and break the shackles of poverty.

Mbuso Zozi: Shining a Light from Cape Town to the World!
ISA WORLD LONGBOARDING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Beautiful Cape Town, a postcard perfect city bathed in sunshine, hides another reality. In the shadows of Table Mountain, poverty and gang violence grip many communities, stealing hope and opportunity from young lives. But amidst the darkness, a beacon of hope shines bright: Mbuso Zozi, a talented longboarder ready to represent South Africa at the ISA World Longboarding Championships!

Mbuso's Dream:

MBUSO HAS COME Within INCHES TOWARDS MAKING HIS IMPOSSIBLE DREAM A REALITY.

Mbuso's journey is extraordinary. From the harsh realities of Vrygrond, he rose above his circumstances, honing his surfing skills through sheer determination and passion. He isn't just chasing a dream; he's carrying the aspirations of his community on his shoulders
The Challenge:
