HOPE UNDER THE BRIDGE

HOPE UNDER THE BRIDGE HOPE UNDER THE BRIDGE “is a spontaneous act of faith expressing itself in love" community uplifting. HOPE UNDER THE BRIDGE. WHAT WE DO. HOW WE DO IT.

We are partners with the community living under the bridge next to the train station in Salt River. This community runs rampant, affected by drug addiction, prostitution and alcoholism, but we Bring the Message of Hope, the hope of Jesus. We are not a Charity, nor do we give handouts. We recognize the inmate dignity and humanity of the members of the community. Our approach is a relationship focus

ed, trust built partnership, where we aim to empower and bring hope through the love of Jesus and the freedom in Christ Jesus. One - on- one
Eat together
Attend church together under the bridge
Spend quality time together
Advocate in hospital, Sassa, and home affairs
Play, read, enjoy each other's company. HOW YOU CAN HELP. Financially: there are many needs monetarily. You can support us as we spend our days strengthening our relationship with the community, travel expenses to home affairs to sort paperwork, and food to sustain us. Relationally: our biggest hope is that other will partner with us, and give their time, energy and love in our community. A saturday afternoon, a Sunday morning for church, or any time during the week- you can come see what we do and take part in this bridge building process

IN PRAYER. Please pray for JESUS to bring totally Freedom to these people, for them to be able to break addictions, for those who already have to stay strong, and for God to continue to give us all hope and energy, and for us to continue to do His will. Dear friends and family,

May the peace and love of our Lord Jesus be with you. We thank God for the opportunity to spend time with those we love and care for. We had a blessed time of prayer, fellowship, and sharing the Word of God one-on-one. We also thank God for these faithful servants who are committed to changing lives, one person at a time.

Please continue praying for our community, that the Holy Spirit will touch their hearts and open them to the Gospel. Together, we are making a difference. Please also keep praying for the team.

Thank you so much for praying with us.

Today I met her at Home Affairs while she was breastfeeding her baby. We went inside together and spoke with one of the officers. Unfortunately, we were told that we could not apply for the birth certificate yet because the proof of birth document did not have a barcode. They advised us to return to the place where she gave birth.

Before that, we first went to the police station to make an affidavit for her lost ID. Afterward, we returned to Home Affairs and were able to apply for her ID. Home Affairs no longer accepts cash payments, only card payments, but praise God, we managed to complete the application successfully.

We then went to the place where she gave birth, and now we are waiting for the ID to be printed, which will take about 2 to 3 weeks. Once she receives it, she will be able to apply for the baby’s birth certificate.

Once again, thank you for your kindness, care, love, support, and prayers. I had a meaningful time with her today. She is a mother of three — two boys and one girl. Two of her children, a boy and a girl, are currently staying with her mother in the Eastern Cape.

Please continue praying for the seed that was planted today 🙏 and pray for her salvation.

Jesus is King. Together we are making a difference in people's life.

Being available and present in times of need truly makes a difference. Yesterday after the church service, my sister N, brother T, and I visited my friend who is admitted to the hospital. When we arrived, we found her with some family members. She was very encouraged and grateful for our visit. We prayed together and then left.

Afterwards, I asked my sister and brother if they would like to visit some families at Ghost Town Gate 1 in Maitland, and they agreed. We visited a few families there, and among them we met a young mother who gave birth about a month ago. Sadly, her child still does not have a birth certificate.

I asked her why, and she explained that her temporary ID had expired a long time ago. I asked her to show me the documents, and she did. I then asked about the original ID, and she began sharing her situation with me. I encouraged her to meet me today at Home Affairs so we could try to sort everything out together.

She is unemployed and unable to apply for a social grant because she does not have the proper documents required. Please pray that she comes today.

We thank God that we were able to meet her and her boyfriend. In the end, she was very grateful and encouraged. Together, we are making a difference, and moments like these open more doors to share the Gospel and build deeper relationships — one life at a time.

Thank you for your support, encouragement, generosity, and commitment ❤️💙
May God bless you abundantly in all that you do.

Jesus is King.

We thank God for His faithfulness! 🙏
He has answered our prayers by opening a door for us in a new community at Gate 1 Maitland.

We are excited to be introducing new people into the ministry through one-on-one connections, building relationships, and sharing hope. As we grow, we are also preparing to start Sunday services soon.

Thank you to all our supporters for standing with us—your prayers and love make this possible. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we serve this community. 🙌

I just want to thank God for His faithfulness and goodness to my family. Today my heart is full of gratitude because the Lord has made a way for our relocation from HUB to Gate 1 Maitland.

In His perfect timing, they said to me, “Sister Leah, we have a place for you now. You can choose, you don’t have to pay rent, come and live with us.” Truly this is the hand of God upon our lives.

What a mighty God we serve! He is our provider, our shelter, and our refuge. When the way seemed uncertain, He opened a door and gave us a place to call home. I give Him all the glory, honor, and praise for His unfailing love and mercy toward us.

Thank You, Lord, for remembering my family. We are grateful and blessed. Amen.

Dear Beloved Friends and family,

Greeting you in the wonderful Name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST OUR SAVIOUR.

As this year draws to a close and we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, my heart overflows with gratitude for each one of you. Christmas reminds us of God’s greatest gift to the world—His Son—given in love, humility, and hope for all humanity.

I would love to take this moment to say THANK YOU. Thank you for standing with us through the years, for believing in the work God has entrusted to us, and for being His hands and feet. Your prayers, encouragement, love, and faithful support have brought light where there was darkness, hope where there was despair, and dignity where it had been lost. Because of you, lives have been touched, hearts restored, and many have come to know the love of Jesus. Please continue to pray for them.

The Word of God says:

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:15)

Indeed, you are part of that gift. Your generosity has echoed far beyond what words can describe, and we are deeply thankful for all that the Lord has done through you—yesterday, today, and in the years to come.
As you celebrate this Christmas with your loved ones, may your homes be filled with peace, joy, and the presence of Emmanuel—God with us. May the love of Christ surround your families, strengthen you, and renew your hearts with hope.

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.” (Luke 2:14)

We give thanks to God for you and look forward with faith and expectation to continuing this journey together, trusting Him for even greater things ahead.

From the depths of my heart, A Blessed Christmas, and may the New Year 2026 be abundantly blessed.

with much love and gratitude
🙏
