Well done team

Earlier tonight, this team went to the aid of a motorist who had broken down on the N7 Richwood. The RNW CCTV operator picked up 3/4 suspects who were earlier in the evening involved in robbing people going home. As he was calling for backup, the suspects emerged from the shadows and homed in on the motorist. Thankfully, the motorist saw them and ran - and he ran fast. The suspects then opened the bonnet to steal the battery, but realized that this team of fearless guardians from the RNW and Precinct Response were heading their way. SAPS Bothasig arrived shortly afterwards. The suspects ran off and disappeared amongst the shadows of the shacks. A flatbed was called, and these members stayed with the motorist until the vehicle was loaded and moved off. Thanks to all RNW members, Neal de Wit, and his Precinct Response team, as well as SAPS. We urge motorists to be vigilant on that stretch of road, especially if they break down.

A Message to my Kenwyn Neighborhood:

As we stand on the threshold of a new year, reflecting on this last day of 2025...
I live in Kenwyn for more than 20years and can truly say that in this vibrant community are loving caring people. So I want to thank you for your support. I remember 5 years ago when my wife passed away, how I received messages of condolences and support. Thank you. A kind loving word is so much better than harsh ugly words. Let's spread love, kindness and compassion.
1. To those who might have lost a loved one in this year, let's remember the good times we've had with them and I pray that you will find solace in that.
2. To all our senior citizens, may God bless you with long life so that we can deposit the wisdom that we have been blessed with to the younger generation πŸ™
3. To all our business people - even my colleagues in real estate (no matter the company). This year may have been good or bad one, but I pray that 2026 will be 10Γ— better than this year. That God will richly bless the work of your hands.
4. To our Kenwyn Neighborhood Watch - you guys are amazing. Thank you for selflessly doing your best in keeping our nest here safe, despite the sometimes dangerous situations you encounter. Thanks for the sacrifices that your families make to allow you to step out in line of duty.
5. To those who have just finished school or are still studying - may all your aspirations come true and that you would excel in what ever career you pursue πŸ™
6. Councilor Mark Kleinschmidt thanks for everything that you do and continue to do. I remember inspite of the stroke you had, you still soldiered on and had a remarkable recovery. God bless you, Sir.
7. To those who have suffered dreaded illness like cancer, etc. Thank God that you are a survivor ❀️ I pray that complete divine healing and good health will be your portion πŸ™
In conclusion. May you all be abundantly blessed and may the new year 2026 hold only goodness, happiness and prosperity for us all. As far as it depends on us, let's live peacefully with all people. God bless πŸ™Œ πŸ™

🐾 Heartwarming Moment in Lansdowne πŸ’™

A beautiful act of kindness took place yesterday in Lansdowne, showing the true spirit of community and compassion.

A heartfelt thank you to Col. Van De Berg and WO Petersen from Lansdowne SAPS for going above and beyond after receiving news of a missing dog spotted in the area. They immediately responded β€” and successfully found and reunited the dog with its grateful owner. πŸΆπŸ’«

A special mention also goes out to the two amazing ladies from the community who helped calm the frightened dog and assisted throughout the process. Your gentle care made all the difference. 🌸

Moments like these remind us that policing and community partnership go hand in hand β€” it’s about care, compassion, and connection. πŸ’™πŸ‘

CRIME ALERT & PREVENTION SUCCESS IN WYNBERG!

The power of live-monitored smart cameras was demonstrated yet again, making our community safer! At 03h29 this morning, a suspect was caught trespassing and breaking into a vehicle at a residential complex on Wellington Road, Wynberg.

Here's how it unfolded:

1. Our alert Zone Camera Controller observed the suspect in real-time forcing entry to the property.
2. Rapid communication mobilized Zone Security units (Zulu1, Zulu2, and Zulu3) immediately.
3. The suspect was apprehended and arrested on-site while hiding on the property.
4. Wynberg SAPS took custody, and a case was opened.

This is the difference smart monitoring makes! It's not just a recording after the fact; it's a proactive early warning system that allows for a fast, successful intervention and arrest. Our cameras turn an observation into immediate action, protecting our clients' property and keeping criminals off our streets.

It’s Time to Future-Proof Our Community's Safety!

If you live in a residential complex or manage a property, consider implementing or upgrading to live-monitored smart camera technology. It has proven to be a game-changer in assisting with numerous arrests over the last few years.

Let's work together to make our neighbourhood a no-go zone for criminals!

Shoutout to our incredible Zone Security team for their vigilance and successful arrest!

Good evening/ Slms

This Neighbourhood Watch issues a solemn update following a tragic incident that occurred on the 9th October at approximately 07:00 in Ottery.
Two individuals were fatally shot on the street during bin collection hours.

While the deceased were known to the community, initial reports from our partners in the South African Police Service (SAPS) indicate a possible connection to broader criminal activity. This underscores a grave reality: violent acts occurring in our streets threaten the safety and security of every resident.

The Kenwyn Neighbourhood Watch maintains a strong, ongoing collaboration with the Lansdowne SAPS and other law enforcement agencies. Our members are dedicated, trained, and committed to channeling critical information from the community to the relevant authorities to ensure a coordinated response.

In the interest of collective safety, we must reiterate a crucial precaution: we strongly advise all residents against engaging with individuals soliciting at bins or loitering. These interactions, however well-intentioned, can inadvertently create risks for you and your community.

For your safety and the safety of our community, we issue a serious and urgent appeal:

Β· Do not engage with "bin scratchers" or vagrants.

Β· Trust in the intelligence gathered by your trained Neighbourhood Watch members and our official law enforcement partners.

We are committed to your safety. Please help us by following this critical guidance.

Remain vigilant. Report promptly. Protect our community.

Regards
KNW Team
