story “At six years old, I survived a car accident that left with third-degree burns across my left arm and back.
What followed were long hospital stays, skin graft surgeries, implants, missed school, and a childhood shaped by recovery.
The scars are still there.
So is the PTSD.
But so is strength.
Movement became my healing.
It started with running during lockdown, it’s since bloomed into a big love for cycling.
Sport became the place I felt safest, strongest, and most myself.
Today, I’m proud to announce that I’m partnering with the Avela Foundation and the UMatter programme to raise awareness and funds for child burn survivors across South Africa through my upcoming races.
In South Africa, 3.2% of the population sustains serious burn wounds annually - that’s 1.6 million cases a year, thousands of them children. Recovery is not just physical. It’s lifelong. It’s emotional. It’s psychological.
UMatter, created by the Avela Foundation together with the Smile Foundation, provides psychosocial support to children and families navigating life after burn injuries - because healing goes beyond the scars.
Every race I line up for this season will be for something bigger.
For the little girl I was.
For the children currently fighting their own battles.
If you’d like to support, donate, or share, follow along for the full journey from daily training to race day.

Find your passion, and you’ll find your strength”.
