African Centre for Heritage Activities - ACHA

African Centre for Heritage Activities - ACHA ACHA is a not for profit organisation which aims to bring a range of skills to the field of heritage to support sustainable heritage conservation.

ACHA is a not for profit organisation which aims to bring a range of skills to the field of heritage. We are inspired by heritage as a driver for economic development, achieved by bringing together a multidimensional network to facilitate and implement activities, projects and programmes for the promotion, protection, conservation and management of heritage. ACHA is based in South Africa, however

we have a vision to interact with heritage from the whole of the African continent. Although this is a mammoth task as each country shows a unique cross section of cultures, belief systems and sites, it is one which we believe will give Africa the best possible chance at learning about, building on and creating awareness around its colliding heritages. Although the work is focused on Africa, ACHA also collaborates with an international network, working on projects all over the world. With heritage as our drive we offer multiple services with the aim at creating, coordinating and capacitating a multidimensional heritage network. These services relate to projects which target society and development, heritage promotion, sustainable heritage and those which inspire innovative heritage work. We achieve this through offering a range of heritage expertise, access to this heritage network, the availability of knowledge, skills and understanding for sustainable heritage. All of these provide a base on which a framework on which specialised skill and knowledge to support heritage can be drawn from.
