On 31 May 2026, the Foster Care Team partnered with House of Miracles Ministry in Nooitgedacht to present a Child Protection Awareness Programme aimed at educating children, parents and community members on the importance of child safety and protection.

The programme focused on raising awareness about sexual abuse and other forms of abuse while encouraging families to play an active role in safeguarding children and promoting their well-being.

We were also privileged to have Mr Fortune, a representative from SAPS Bishop Lavis, who shared valuable safety tips with both children and parents. His presentation highlighted practical ways to stay safe report concerns and work together.

We would like to extend our appreciation to the House of Miracles Ministry, Mr Fortune from SAPS Bishop Lavis and all the community members who participated in making the programme a success. Together we can create safer communities where every child is protected, supported and given the opportunity to thrive.

Child Protection Week serves as an important reminder that protecting children is everyone's responsibility.

Mrs Adams and Mrs Van der Broeck, BADISA Social Auxiliary Workers, visited Pinelands North Primary School to share valuable lessons on child protection and neglect with Grade 1–3 learners. Using the Poppie Doll as a visual aid, they highlighted the importance of recognising and valuing each child as a unique individual. 💚

🌼 May is Child Protection Month 🌼

“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” – Nelson Mandela

This month reminds us that every child has the right to be safe, protected, and cared for in a nurturing environment. At BADISA, we are committed to protecting children, strengthening families, and building communities where children can thrive.

Poppie is more than just a doll Poppie represents every child we serve. Poppie is a symbol of care, comfort and protection, reminding us that children are vulnerable and depend on us to keep them safe.

As we observe Child Protection Month, let us all take a stand in creating safer spaces for children and speaking out against abuse and neglect.

You can adopt a Poppie at our office as a meaningful way to show your commitment to protecting children. By adopting Poppie, you are encouraged to care for it as you would care for a child and help spread awareness about the importance of child protection.

📞 Contact our offices to find out how you can adopt Poppie and be part of making a difference in a child’s life.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us - Romans 5:8

On this Good Friday, we reflect on a love so powerful that it brought hope to the world through sacrifice. It is a time for stillness, gratitude, and remembrance.
May this day remind us of the strength found in faith and the promise of new life. Wishing you a blessed Good Friday ✝️

Our staff had the privilege of being invited by Badisa TRIO to celebrate Kuumba Care Day Dressed in red, we proudly represented strength, compassion, and the heart behind the work we do in our community every day. It was a beautiful day filled with connection, reflection, and appreciation.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do to serve, support, and uplift those around us ❤️

Gender-Based Violence and HIV are deeply connected, and the impact is devastating.
Women experiencing physical or sexual violence face higher risks of HIV transmission, are more likely to default on treatment, and often struggle to access the care and protection they deserve.

As we observe 16 Days of Activism and World AIDS Day, we are reminded that ending GBV is not only about safety. It is also about health, dignity, and survival.

Let’s stand together.
Let’s speak out.
Let’s protect and uplift survivors.
Let’s fight for a future where every person can live free from violence and access the healthcare they need.

23/11/2025

To launch 16 Days of Activism, Social Worker, Laurelle Tchoula Tchokonte from Badisa Elsies River spoke on Inspire Elsies RADIO about the dangers our children face and the ongoing crisis of Gender-Based Violence in our community.

Her message was clear:
Our children deserve safety, our women deserve protection, and our community deserves better.

Badisa Elsies River stands firm in support, awareness, and action.
Together, we can break the cycle.
