A reminder of the risks our children can face online.

While we often focus on physical safety, it is just as important to know what our children are doing online, who they are communicating with and what platforms or communities they may be accessing.

The internet can expose young people to people and content that they may not have the experience or maturity to recognise as dangerous. Having open conversations with your children, taking an interest in their online activities and knowing who they are interacting with can make an important difference.

This isn't about invading their privacy or creating fear. It's about being informed, involved and available when they need help.

Please take a few minutes to talk to your children about their online lives and make sure they know they can come to you if something makes them uncomfortable or concerned.

Please see the original SAPS post for the full details.

Its back!

Our 2026 Womens Month Appeal is here and once again we are supporting our local schools and the Pinelands SAPS victim support room with some much needed essentials.

Here's how you can get involved:
1. Donate sanitary products, toiletries and personal care essentials.
2. Become a business sponsor and help us extend our reach.
3. Write a heartfelt note of encouragement to include in our care packs.
4. Share this appeal with your friends, family and colleagues.

You could also volunteer your time on our packing or delivery days, so please do look out for those dates as well.

Every donation, every message and every share helps remind someone that they are seen, valued and supported.

Item donations can also be dropped off at Pizzeria Villaggio , a long time supporter of our appeal.

If you'd like to contribute, or find out more, please get in touch via email or message one of our committee members from our WhatsApp groups.

Thank you for helping us support our community.

🚨 CITY ALERT: Urgent request to reduce water consumption city-wide

The City of Cape Town urgently appeals to all residents and businesses to use water for essential purposes only following two unrelated incidents that have significantly affected the City's water treatment capacity.

Over the weekend, vandalism and cable theft damaged critical infrastructure at the Voëlvlei Water Treatment Plant, while a failure in the sludge management system at the Blackheath Water Treatment Plant has reduced production to maintain water quality standards.

đź’§ Please help by:
âś… Using water only for essential needs
❌ Postponing non-essential water use, including:
• Watering gardens
• Washing vehicles
• Filling swimming pools
• Hosing down paved areas

Our technical teams are working around the clock to restore full operations as quickly as possible. Your cooperation is essential to help protect bulk water storage levels and maintain a stable water supply across Cape Town.

Thank you for doing your part. Every drop counts.

Well done to everyone involved in restoring a piece of our community heritage and history. Looking forward to the space ...

Planned Protest Action

Residents may be aware of the planned protest action scheduled for Tuesday, 30 June 2026.

We would like to reassure our community that SAPS and its safety partners have coordinated operational plans in place across the Western Cape to monitor the situation and respond where necessary.

As always, we ask residents to:
* Share only verified information and avoid forwarding rumours or unconfirmed reports.
* Report any suspicious or criminal activity immediately to the appropriate authorities.

Emergency Contacts
SAPS: 10111 / 021 506 2022 (Pinelands CSC)
CoCT Emergency: 021 480 7700

When reporting an incident, please provide clear and accurate information, including the location, nature of the incident and any relevant descriptions. This helps emergency services respond as quickly and effectively as possible.

Lets continue to work together as a community by remaining vigilant, supporting one another and allowing our emergency services to do what they do best.
