And just like that, the holidays are over and it’s back to school!

Throughout the school holidays, our programmes created space for our kids to have fun, explore, learn and spend time together. From creative activities and games to beach days, lessons and shared meals, there was plenty to keep curious minds engaged and growing.

Now, as a new term begins, we’re looking forward to seeing that same curiosity and energy carried into the classroom. Here’s to another term of learning, growing and making the most of every opportunity!

There’s something special about seeing an idea take shape and watching it materialise.

For us at 9Miles, that idea is the Learning Centre; a space designed to give young people access to education, mentorship, practical skills and new possibilities.

The Learning Centre was designed by SAOTA, whose long-standing partnership with 9Miles has helped bring this vision to life. The project recently received international recognition with a 2026 WAFX Award, marking an exciting milestone for our community.

Our founders, Nigel and Sher’Neil, recently attended the opening of SAOTA’s Shaped by Place: 40 Years of Architectural Practice at Brundyn Arts & Culture. The exhibition celebrates 40 years of architecture through the people, places, ideas and collaborations that have shaped SAOTA’s work.

We’re grateful to be part of this story and for the continued partnership that is helping us build something meaningful for the next generation.

Holidays in St Francis has been an adventure and our kids are soaking up every moment. From visits to SANCCOB to the Nelson Mandela Stadium, swimming and everything in between, it’s been a week of learning, exploring and making memories.

Ahhhh how we love seeing our kids this happy and engaged! 😊

This week, we hosted a group of young girls from Bonteheuwel as part of their mentorship programme with InsideOut Npo, using surfing as a tool for confidence, connection and empowerment.

We believe meaningful change happens when we work together. Our Surf Empowerment sessions are available to organisations looking to create purposeful experiences for the young people they serve.

Happy Monday!☀️

The holidays are officially here and St Francis Bay has started our holiday programme with a bang! 🏖️

On Saturday, our team had a beach clean-up at Granny’s Pool, getting our young people outdoors, cleaning the environment and starting the holidays on a positive note.

We are ready for a week of adventure.

School’s out… and the fun is officially ON! 🌊☀️

Before we kick off our holiday programme, we gave our kids a little taste of what’s to come with the Ultimate Amazing Race! 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️ From the little optimist challenge (sailing around the tidal pool) and teamwork to plenty of laughs, the kids were absolutely chuffed and we think our team had just as much fun! 😂

We also had a special guest appearance from our friends at Laureus South Africa! Always lovely having them with us and seeing the smiles they bring along. 💙

Because after school isn’t just about keeping busy. It’s about having a place to belong, connect, make friends, try new things and simply be yourself.

And with the holidays officially here… let the games begin! 🤝
