Dear MSA Leaders,
We are honoured to invite you to be the first ambassadors of a national legacy project:
The 1500 Years of the Prophetic Legacy: National Essay Challenge for South African university students.
Marking 1500 lunar years since the birth of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, this initiative calls on students to reflect on his enduring contribution to civilisation through thoughtful and ethical writing. Open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students, the essay challenge is not only about prizes, it is about honouring Prophet Muhammad ﷺ model and reviving a tradition of critical, purpose-driven thought.
As MSAs, your leadership is vital. You are the front line of outreach, coordination, and inspiration on your campuses. We humbly ask you to:
1. Promote the challenge widely among your peers, both Muslim and non-Muslim.
2. Host briefing sessions or essay-writing workshops if possible.
3. Appoint a liaison person to help coordinate participation and communication.
We will provide a full MSA Pack with all the details: posters, essay topics, deadlines, and guidelines — everything you need to make this a success, In shā Allāh.
Together, let us make this a national moment of reflection, renewal, and Prophetic honour.
