This Sunday, Belene opened up one of the most debated topics in Scripture: the rapture and instead of picking a side and defending it, she invited us into a bigger picture. 📖
She walked us through the ancient story in Genesis 24, where Abraham's servant travels to find a bride for Isaac, and showed how that overlooked account becomes a pattern for something far greater: Christ and His Church. The servant, the watering hole, the ten camels, Rebecca's simple answer, "I will go", all of it reads differently once you see it as a shadow of the gospel.
From there Belene traced the stages of an ancient Jewish wedding; the betrothal, the bridegroom departing to prepare a place, the surprise gathering and how closely that pattern lines up with Jesus's own words in John 14 and Paul's promise in 1 Thessalonians 4: "we who are alive, who are left... will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord."
Whether you land pre-trib, mid-trib, or post-trib, Belene was clear that isn't the point of the message. The real question she left us with was simpler, and harder: are you ready?
