A Day of Legacy and Presence: Founders Day at Mount View High
There is something deeply moving about walking into a school hall filled with history, not just in its walls, but in the people who gather there.
At Mount View Highβs Founders Day on 23 April, that feeling was unmistakable. From the moment we arrived, there was a quiet reverence in the room. This was more than a ceremony, it was a moment of remembering, honouring, and reconnecting with what this school represents in the heart of Hanover Park.
As we sat among learners, educators, and community members, we were struck by the pride that filled the space. It showed in how learners carried themselves, in their attentiveness, and in the voices that spoke of the schoolβs journey. There was honesty, an acknowledgement of challenges, but also deep resilience.
Being there as IseeU added another layer of meaning. Our work often happens in quieter spaces one-on-one conversations, small groups, moments where young people begin to find their voice. But this day was collective. Visible. A reminder that schools like Mount View High are more than places of learning; they are spaces of care, carrying stories of hope, hardship, and strength.
What stood out most was the sense of continuity. Founders Day honours the past, but what we witnessed was also about the present, the learners in that room, and the futures they are building. Legacy is not static. It is lived every day.
As IseeU, we walk alongside, creating spaces where young women feel seen and supported. Being part of this day reminded us that this work is deeply connected to the school environment and the broader community.
We left with a quiet, grounded hope shaped by what we witnessed: presence, commitment, and care.
It is a privilege for IseeU to be part of this journey. π
