TB HIV Care

TB HIV Care TB HIV Care aims to prevent, find and treat TB, HIV and other major diseases.

TB HIV Care's integrated approach to addressing both TB and HIV issues has made the organisation a pioneer in implementing a comprehensive system of support for TB and HIV clients. TB HIV Care was also an early champion of community-based treatment support for TB and HIV, and continues to regard the involvement of communities in health care as critical. We also provide HIV counselling and testing

services, clinical support for health facilites, and an educare programme for hospitalised children.

South Africa continues to strengthen its TB response with innovations such as TB-NAAT and TB LAM for diagnosis, shorter TB prevention and treatment regimens, including expanded community-level approaches. However, provincial disparities remain in four provinces (๐™€๐™–๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง๐™ฃ ๐˜พ๐™–๐™ฅ๐™š, ๐™†๐™ฌ๐™–๐™•๐™ช๐™ก๐™ช-๐™‰๐™–๐™ฉ๐™–๐™ก, ๐™‚๐™–๐™ช๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™œ, ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐™’๐™š๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง๐™ฃ ๐˜พ๐™–๐™ฅ๐™š) accounting for 77% of all lab-confirmed TB cases in 2024, with the Eastern Cape reporting the highest notification rate.
