🗣️The Culture of the Kingdom | Sermon: Apostle Alan Adams
📖 Matthew 5:1–12 — The Beatitudes
The Sermon on the Mount reveals the culture and character of the Kingdom of God. It is not simply advice on how to be a good person-it is a call to surrender and transformation.
Mountains represent places where heaven meets earth. Sometimes God calls us into wilderness and isolation, not to abandon us, but to capture our attention and prepare us for greater dimensions. Promotion often follows isolation, and new dimensions require a ripping away of the old.
The journey begins with surrender. Pride must be confronted, and we must reach the end of ourselves.
Beatitude 1:“Blessed are the poor in spirit.” Jesus must occupy the throne of our hearts. We cannot rely on ourselves.
Beatitude 2:Those who mourn will be comforted. This is Kingdom grief-a burden for souls. We must not celebrate what grieves Heaven.
Kingdom business begins with surrender, attracts enemies before friends, and ultimately transforms our character.
