The Homestead Projects for Street Children Our Mission is to ensure that there are no children living, working or begging on the streets of Cape Town.

The Homestead is a 44 year old organisation, established in 1982, that takes care of children who used to live, beg and work on the streets, also has Prevention and Early Intervention Programmes for children at risk of ending up on the streets. This is achieved through prevention, outreach, intake, residential therapy, family reunification and job creation projects. WE ARE HIRING!

The Homestead Projects for Street Children successfully transitions neglected and traumatised children away from the street, back home, or onto successful independent living through a holistic
set of prevention, outreach, stabilisation, residential care, and family reunification and youth transition programmes.

The Homestead seeks to appoint a qualified Child & Youth Care Worker at our Child & Youth Care Centre (CYCC) in Observatory. The LaunchPad CYCC is a transitional residential care programme
for youth aged 15 to 21 who are preparing to leave care. The aim of the programme is to ensure that youth who leave the Homestead are well-prepared and ready to move out.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff from Bitcube for the generous donation of pantry items as well as warm blankets, toiletries, and other kitchen necessities during Mondela Month.
