"Connecting youth to opportunities"

The YearBeyond theory of change comes full circle in mid 2026 with the start of the YearBeyond NGO Support program!

Serve, Enable ,Connect remains the order of the day as YearBeyond and GCU welcomes 30 unemployed youth from Heideveld, Bonteheuwel, Manenberg and Gugulethu into service.

The fight against youth unemployment remains a national issue, partnerships like these help young people from underprivileged communities get an opportunity to be active contributors to society and the economy.

GCU in partnership with YoungPeople@Work brings an enticing opportunity for youth from the Heideveld and surrounding areas.

In a country with 60% youth unemployment in Q1 of 2026 permanent employment is scarce, what GCU aims to do is bridge the gap to opportunity by introducing youth to various training/employment opportunities as well as get assistance with NSFAS application processes and Applications to The Department of Labor database.
