General information
The course and curriculum The first two years of the course concentrates primarily on language competency. As is our experience over the years that students generally acquire the ability to hear/listen and understand a foreign language faster than what they gain the practicality of expression in any foreign language. For the above reason most of our lessons during the initial two years are listen and understand orientated. However the major concentration during these years is given to acquainting the student with the grammar of the language as well as the science of morphology that is integrally associated with the Arabic verb. All readers/text books from the beginning of the course is in the Arabic language medium and all students are given the chance to develop reading skills and encouraged to translate to the class certain passages of each lesson. Although subjects like Islamic History, Islamic Doctrine and Jurisprudence (Fiqh) are taught in the first and second year language classes, the general focus nevertheless impacts on the dynamics of the language such as vocabulary and syntax, rather than the different masaa-il and difference of the various schools of thought. From the third year till the fifth year detailed explanation are undertaken of all the various disciplines and the final year concentrates on the six major canonical works of Hadith. Students are encouraged to either pursue further studies in special fields of their choice, such as Hadith, Iftaa and Adab or to spend at least 4 (four months) in jamaat to learn the methodology of the work of Da’wah and Tabligh. Students are continuously exhorted and encouraged to spend more time on campus where the environment of study exists.
