World Cocktail Day: shake, stir sip – and meet your next favourite drink
World Cocktail Day is next week and we’re celebrating properly. On May 13th, 1806, a New York tabloid published the first-ever definition of a cocktail. Two centuries later, it’s a whole culture – shaped by James Bond, Don Draper, Carrie Bradshaw, and now, your Instagram feed. World Cocktail Day celebrates all of it: the craft, the ritual, the art of the perfect pour.
This year, we’re marking the occasion with three recipes from Galaxy Bar Cocktails – the debut book from Dubai’s Galaxy Bar, a World’s 50 Best Bars alumnus and part of South Africa’s own Tashas Group (which incidentally is rolling out more new concepts in Cape Town than anywhere else).
