Voces Cordis

Voces Cordis VOCES CORDIS (Voices of the Heart) was established in February 2022 by André van der Merwe. Many of the choir members are alumni of his previous choirs.

The choir consists of 80 choristers from across the Cape Peninsula in South Africa, aged between 18 and 50. André established the group as a continuation of his work with the Stellenbosch University Choir and the Stellenberg Girls Choir. Adults who pursue various professional careers now get a podium to continue their passion for ensemble singing. Since February, the choir has appeared on national

television, performed with Nataniël at the Grand West, and was invited to perform at the Woordfees Art Festival in Stellenbosch.

[SOLD OUT] We kicked off our performance season with our 'tradition-concert' at Gene Louw a few weeks ago. On Friday we will have our first full concert for 2026. Our Social Committee kicked off 2026 with their very first meeting – and let’s just say… exciting things are on the horizon!

They’re planning some special ways for the choir to connect and get to know one another even better. First up? Our very first choir camp getaway in March!
