Teachers have the power to shape young minds.

Every weekday, children look to them for guidance in place of their parents. The responsibility is immense, yet they show up every day, focused on their mission: to educate and help young people thrive.

Today, we celebrate and appreciate the dedication teachers bring to our children’s lives.

Happy World Teachers’ Day!

🧠 Many of our grantee partners place mental health at the heart of their work. They provide psychological support not only for the children in their care but also for their caregivers.

At , the team supports girls who have been rescued from trafficking and are often deeply traumatised. Prioritising their mental health is a crucial part of the healing process. 💛

As the World Health Organization reminds us, “There is no health without mental health.”

🌸 Girl Up Initiative Uganda is on a mission to create a world where girls can lead and thrive! 💪🏾✨

While gender equality is on the agenda for many, it remains a challenge we must all work together to achieve.

This , we’re calling on everyone to empower a girl and remind her that she can be whoever she wants to be. 💜

She can lead. She can teach. She can sing. She can play sports. Whatever she sets her sights on, she can do it! 🌍

In Philippi, an underserved community in the Western Cape, the South African Education Project (SAEP) is empowering young children and adolescents to become thriving adults. ✨

SAEP opens doors to opportunities many young people might otherwise not have, offering support from early childhood development through post-matric.

Beyond education, they also focus on psychosocial support, environmental awareness, community service, and the empowerment of girls and women. 🌍💛

In 2012, a group of publishing professionals came together to donate 200 books to underserved schools in the Kenyan communities they grew up in. 📚✨

What they found was a deeper systemic challenge: most schools had little to no access to books beyond formal textbooks. They began training teacher-librarians, setting up sustainable library systems, and making literacy the heart of learning.

By 2019, they had established more than 200 libraries across Kenya in Nairobi, Isiolo, Kajiado, Kisumu, Mombasa, and beyond. 🌍

A decade later, in 2022, their mission grew into the Start A Library Trust a Library Trust, an organisation dedicated to cultivating a culture of reading for pleasure. 💛

Today, we celebrate the little and young humans who are the heart of our work. 👶🏾❤️

Children are the most vulnerable in our society, and we need to love, protect, and nurture them fiercely.

Happy World Children's Day. 🎈
