CANSA Relay For Life is an inspiring community event that gives everyone a chance to celebrate cancer survivors and carers; remember loved ones lost to cancer; and fight back by raising awareness and funds to support the work of The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA). CANSA Relay For Life is for people of all ages and fitness levels - anyone can take part!

CANSA Relay For Life involves teams of people who walk or run around a track. In a relay style, each team needs to have at least one participant on the track throughout the event.
Why we need you
The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA )doesn’t receive any direct government funding, so we rely on the support and generosity of the community. The money raised through CANSA Relay For Life stays in the region and helps people in our community through the CANSA’s support services, health promotion programmes and cancer research.
Everyone and anyone can be involved. If you have a connection to someone who has been through cancer or is going through cancer today, or if you want to make a difference and help us reduce cancer tomorrow then Relay For Life is for you.

About Relay
CANSA Relay For Life brings people from all walks of life together for a common cause. It beings with an Opening Ceremony, with cancer survivors and carers leading the first lap of the event. Next, team members take to the track. Most walk, while some prefer to jog or run.

Personally-inscribed candle bags (luminaria bags) are placed around the track, and their light emits a warm glow throughout Relay venue. Team members continue to walk or jog until the teams come together for an inspiring Closing Ceremony.

Teams are made up of friends, family, co-workers, and your local community. Relay For Life is a fun event with every team bringing its own special energy by creating campsites and enjoying the entertainment and each other’s company. Worldwide, more than five million people take part in a Relay For Life event every.

Hi family & friends, it's me again starting to recruit for CANSA Relay for Life Mitchell's Plain. The Cancer community is large, and somehow we're all affected by it. The CANSA association/cancer patients need you & me to help them by aiding and raising funds for services that CANSA provides. You can either start your own team or come on board with my team, Family Ties. Check out the cansa website too if you're unsure what cansa RFL is all about.

Creashy het die lewens van tallose mense aangeraak met haar buitengewone moed, vriendelikheid en onselfsugtigheid. Selfs terwyl sy ondenkbare uitdagings in die gesig gestaar het, het sy voortgegaan om ander te inspireer met haar glimlag, haar krag en haar onwrikbare hoop. Haar lig het veel verder as haar eie reis gestrek en sal aanhou skyn in die harte van almal wat die voorreg gehad het om haar storie te ken.
