For over 122 years, the Cape Town Eisteddfod has been the premier platform for showcasing artistic talent in the Western Cape and beyond. Rooted in the 12th-century Welsh tradition, our Eisteddfod blends a rich heritage with a passion for innovation, offering vibrant opportunities for art, music, and creative writing.

๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐ฌ are warmly welcomed for our ๐จ๐ง๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐ฌ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ, ensuring talent from across the country can shine. For those able to join us in person, ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐„๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐๐๐Ÿ๐จ๐๐š๐ฎ ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ก๐ž๐ฅ๐ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐–๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง ๐‚๐š๐ฉ๐ž, open to local entrants or those in the region during the event dates. With prestigious ๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐ก๐ข๐ž๐ฌ, ๐ฆ๐ž๐๐š๐ฅ๐ฌ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ž๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ณ๐ž๐ฌ awarded to outstanding participants, every entrant is celebrated with graded certificates from esteemed adjudicators. The yearโ€™s creativity and dedication culminate in our celebratory Prize Giving ceremony. We salute the incredible efforts of our Art, Creative Writing, and Music Convenors and extend heartfelt thanks to participants for making the Cape Town Eisteddfod a beacon of artistic brilliance.

๐ŸŽญ What a lovely day at Reddam Atlantic

The Cape Town Eisteddfod was at Reddam House Atlantic Seaboard on 19 September, with performers of different ages getting their turn in front of an audience.

It was great to see so many performers get up on stage and enjoy the chance to share what theyโ€™d been working on.

Performing in front of an audience is a big part of learning music. It builds confidence and gives young musicians the chance to turn all that practice into something real.

The Cape Town Eisteddfod at Rallim School on 18 September brought together such a wide range of performers.

There were marimba groups of all ages, young pianists, guitarists, drummers and vocalists, with plenty of first-time nerves alongside some very confident performances.

It was great to see just how broad the musical talent was across the day, and how much personality each group brought to its performance. ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽต

๐ŸŽถ What a day at Rallim!

On Friday, 18 September, Rallim School hosted a brilliant day of Cape Town Eisteddfod performances, welcoming musicians from a range of schools and bringing a huge variety of talent together in one programme.

The marimba programme was especially impressive, with groups from Rallim, CBC St Johnโ€™s, Sunningdale, Bloubergridge Primary, La Rochelle Girlsโ€™ High and others taking part. We also heard piano, guitar, vocals and drums, with performers ranging from young novices to confident ensemble musicians.

It was fantastic to see so many learners making music together and cheering one another on. A big thank you to Rallim School for hosting, and well done to every performer who stepped up and shared their music. ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŽถ A lovely afternoon with Muzukidz

Muzukidz performed at the Cape Town Eisteddfod at Good Hope Seminary on 12 September, with wonderful support from the audience throughout the session.

Charlene Bogenhagenโ€™s feedback was warm and engaging, and helped make the experience an encouraging one for the performers.

A big thank you to everyone who came to support them. Having the chance to share their musical talent with a real audience is such an important part of the Eisteddfod experience, and it is one of the things that makes these performances feel so worthwhile. ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽต

The Muzukidz violin ensemble brought so much charm to โ€œPata Pataโ€ at Good Hope Seminary.

They performed with such confidence, and the mix of violin, singing, and movement gave the whole piece a joyful lift. The outfits were a brilliant touch and gave the whole performance even more personality. โค๏ธ๐ŸŽป

Erin Hall was filled with vocal performances on 5 September, with soloists and duets bringing a wide mix of styles and personalities to the programme.

It was a pleasure to hear singers step up with confidence and share the work theyโ€™ve put into their music.

A playful duet from Mozartโ€™s The Magic Flute, performed at Erin Hall.

The quick back-and-forth gives the piece so much character, and the repeated exchange makes it especially fun to hear and watch.

A spirited performance with plenty of personality. ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ‘
