For over 122 years, the Cape Town Eisteddfod has been the premier platform for showcasing artistic talent in the Western Cape and beyond. Rooted in the 12th-century Welsh tradition, our Eisteddfod blends a rich heritage with a passion for innovation, offering vibrant opportunities for art, music, and creative writing.

For those able to join us in person, ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐„๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐๐๐Ÿ๐จ๐๐š๐ฎ ๐š๐ซ๐ž ๐ก๐ž๐ฅ๐ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐–๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง ๐‚๐š๐ฉ๐ž, open to local entrants or those in the region during the event dates. With prestigious ๐ญ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐ก๐ข๐ž๐ฌ, ๐ฆ๐ž๐๐š๐ฅ๐ฌ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ž๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐ข๐ณ๐ž๐ฌ awarded to outstanding participants, every entrant is celebrated with graded certificates from esteemed adjudicators. The yearโ€™s creativity and dedication culminate in our celebratory Prize Giving ceremony. We salute the incredible efforts of our Art, Creative Writing, and Music Convenors and extend heartfelt thanks to participants for making the Cape Town Eisteddfod a beacon of artistic brilliance.

Marimbas at Wynberg Girlsโ€™ Junior! ๐Ÿฅโœจ

The Marimba Group, led by Anouk Smit, played at the Cape Town Eisteddfod on 20 September. They performed 'Viva La Vida' by Coldplay and had the audience tapping to the beat.

The Junior Choir, conducted by Chantรฉ Cupido (Head of Music), took part in the Cape Town Eisteddfod on 20 September, singing โ€œFix Youโ€ by Coldplay with gentle harmonies. Well done to these talented performers.

A special choir moment at Wynberg Girlsโ€™ Junior! ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’›

Two choirs from Wynberg Girlsโ€™ Junior joined us on 20 September and brought joyful energy to the afternoon. The Kindergarten Choir, led by Andrea McMinn, sang 'The Lion Sleeps Tonight' and gave the performance a sweetness that was impossible not to feel. Just watch!

Wynberg Girlsโ€™ High School achieved two medal-winning entries in the guitar section on 20 September. One of these was a smooth Rock and Pop bass guitar entry, performed with great confidence and style.
