We are especially proud of Tohierah Van Wyk, AI Coordinator at RLabs, who joined the panel to share how responsible and ethically utilised AI can empower communities and social ventures around the world.

Between the meaningful conversations and shared inspiration, today reminded us that when women lead the way in technology, new pathways open for the next generation.

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we took a moment to pause and celebrate who we are and the journeys we are on. A moment to love life, love being alive, and most importantly, love ourselves💕

The ladies shared beautiful words of affirmation, and each chose a secret note meant just for them, no two the same, each one unique, just like the woman receiving it. A gentle reminder that self-love is always worth celebrating.

Today’s Ai Models Event with welcoming remarks from Tohierah Van Wyk, Junior AI Co-ordinator for RLabs Global, and Rene Parker, Director of RLabs, who spoke about the rapid growth of AI and its impact on our daily lives and work.

We then welcomed Marushka Johannes, Head of Community Engagement, Women in AI, who unpacked how AI models work and how to engage with them effectively. She explored different prompting techniques, demonstrated how prompts translate visually, and highlighted accessible AI imagery tools and platforms that everyday users can incorporate into their workflow.

Marushka also provided live examples, showing participants how to customize outputs and harness AI creatively.

You can grow alongside AI, and even use it to elevate your business. Her message was clear: have fun with AI, experiment, and let your creativity lead the way.

Participating at the Africa Forward Summit offered an inspiring deep dive into how Africa’s prosperity is inseparable from the growth of its social economy. The first panel set the tone with a powerful message from Thelma Ekiyor-Solanke of Women for Women International, who highlighted the indispensable role women play in driving sustainable development. She reminded us that women are already the ones crashing the business plan not only as contributors, but as key architects of progress.

Women are the bridge to last-mile communities and hard-to-reach markets, opening pathways for inclusion, innovation, and long-term impact. Their leadership isn’t just beneficial it’s essential to unlocking Africa’s full potential.
