This research, published by the Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management and co-written by IBP South Africa, looks at how local governments manage water, sanitation and health infrastructure, also known as WASH. It highlights common challenges and suggests ways to improve these services so they better meet the needs of communities.

's 98 community plumbers in Knysna Municipality are fixing taps and toilets fast! Residents are reporting leaking taps, burst pipes, broken toilets and other issues directly to them. And because they live and work in their own communities, they can attend to faults quickly and efficiently.
