∙∙Peace starts with what we do together. 🌱🕊️∙∙

Today, Rotary joins the global community in observing the International Day of Peace.

Peace is not simply the absence of conflict. It is built through understanding, cooperation, compassion and action - in our communities and across borders.

As one of Rotary’s areas of focus, peacebuilding sits at the heart of our commitment to creating lasting, positive change. Through service projects, grants, scholarships and the Rotary Peace Fellowship, Rotary members and supporters are investing in people who are working towards a more peaceful world.

Today, we also celebrate the more than 1,900 Rotary Peace Fellows who are using their knowledge and leadership to prevent conflict and build peace in communities around the world. Because meaningful change does not always begin on a global stage.

It begins when people choose to listen, understand, and work together. This International Day of Peace, let’s remember that every act of service can create a ripple effect far beyond ourselves.

Rotary builds peace. One community. One connection. One action at a time.

Where did Rotary’s Four-Way Test come from?

In 1932, during the Great Depression, businessman Herbert J. Taylor was asked to save a company facing bankruptcy. Instead of focusing only on profit, he created four simple questions to guide every decision:

🔹 Is it the truth?
🔹 Is it fair to all concerned?
🔹 Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
🔹 Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

These principles helped rebuild trust, strengthen relationships and guide the company back to success.

Nearly a century later, the Four-Way Test remains a powerful ethical compass - not only for Rotarians, but for our professional and everyday lives.
