Did you know May is Menstrual Hygiene Month?
We celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Month every year on 28 May.
The date is symbolic:
28 = the average days of a menstrual cycle
5 = the average number of days of a period
This month, KLC and our flagship project The Pad Princess are aiming to help 500 girls fight period poverty by providing:
🩷 Regular sanitary pads at R10 per pack of 8
OR
🩷 A Menstrual Care Bucket sponsored at R250 each
Each bucket contains 3 reusable pads, vinegar and laundry soap. The pads can last a girl all the way through high school when properly cared for. For many girls, this means staying in school, protecting their dignity, and not missing vital education because they cannot afford sanitary products.
Did you know some girls miss up to one week of school every month because they cannot afford pads?
