😊 Smiles of the Week | Youth Month 2026πŸ’™

This Youth Month, we celebrate the power of young people making healthy and positive choices for their future.

Substance abuse can impact mental health, relationships, education, and personal growth. But every young person has the strength to choose a healthier path. Your decisions today can shape a brighter tomorrow filled with purpose, confidence, and opportunity. 🌱✨

Keep smiling, keep believing in yourself, and remember that choosing your wellbeing is always the right choice.

. Breathe in. Let go.🧘🏾

This week, we leaned into a tough truth: substance abuse.

We did not shy away from the pain, the struggle, or the ripple effects. But we also did not stop there. Because every hard conversation has a door that leads somewhere lighter.

Today, that door opens.πŸšͺ✨

This Friday, we pause. Not to forget. But to reflect on how far honesty and small, healthy choices can take us.

Next week, with the young people we support, we are flipping the script entirely.

πŸ’› Optimism and Positivity. Because hope is a muscle worth building.
πŸ”₯ Youth Power. Celebrating who you are. No masks. No apologies. Just you, fully seen.

You have carried this week well. Rest today. Rise again Monday.

🌟 Impact Story: Youth Empowerment Through Opportunity

My name is Babalwa Hita, and I am currently an HR Intern at Amathuba Collective.

For years, I searched for an internship opportunity where I could grow professionally, gain practical experience, and begin building my career in Human Resources. Joining Amathuba Collective became the breakthrough I had been hoping for, and it has truly transformed my life both personally and professionally.

Through this journey, I have gained confidence, improved my communication skills, and learned how to work professionally within a team environment. I have also developed valuable experience in managing responsibilities, communicating with candidates, and contributing to important organisational tasks.

Like any growth journey, there were challenges. Balancing multiple responsibilities and stepping outside of my comfort zone was not always easy, but those experiences helped me become more resilient, confident, and adaptable.

This opportunity reminded me that growth happens when we believe in ourselves and continue pushing forward despite challenges.

Looking ahead, I hope to become a qualified HR professional who creates positive impact in the workplace while helping other young people access opportunities and believe in their potential.πŸ’™

πŸ’°This wellness Wednesday we are reminded that healthy choices extend beyond our physical health. They also include the financial decisions we make every day.

As we continue our Youth Month conversation on Substance Abuse: Making Healthy Choices, we encourage young people to invest in habits that support their future. Learning how to save, budget, and manage money can help create opportunities, reduce financial stress, and build long-term stability.

Platforms like Black Bullion provide valuable financial education and tools that empower young people to make informed financial decisions and work towards their goals.

Every positive choice matters. Choose growth. Choose financial wellness. Choose a future filled with possibility.

Tuesday πŸ’™

Every Tuesday is a chance to choose differently.

Choose clarity over confusion.
Choose peace over chaos.
Choose freedom over addiction.

One unhealthy choice does not define you, but healthier choices today can reshape your tomorrow. 🧠✨

Substance abuse does not only affect one person. It impacts families, friendships, opportunities, and dreams. Together, we can choose to break the cycle and support healthier lifestyles.

Recovery is not easy, but choosing a healthier path again today is an act of courage and strength.

Keep choosing yourself. Keep choosing healing. 🌱

Smiles of the Week.😊

This week, our smiles belong to the ones who chose their own peace over popular opinion.

To the friend who quietly said, "I am not okay with this" and meant it.
To the colleague who stepped back when everyone else stepped forward into chaos.
To the young person who texted "I need a minute" instead of pretending to be fine.

We smile because you stood your ground gently, bravely, sometimes silently in a week that asked you to fold.

In this Mental Health Awareness Month, we want you to know: your "no" matters. Your boundary is beautiful. Your mental health is worth more than anyone's approval.

Keep standing. We are smiling right along with you. πŸ’™

Partner Spotlight: Maryse Barak, Time to Think. πŸ’™πŸ§

Sometimes, you find a partner who does not just coach. They companion you.
Sometimes, you find a practice that does not just teach thinking. It teaches being.

For us at Amathuba Collective, that partner is Maryse Barak. πŸ’™

We deeply appreciate the way you show up with care, wisdom, and genuine respect for people and process. Your ability to create spaces where meaningful collaboration and quality thinking can thrive continues to inspire us.

Especially in what you call "the last third of life," where reflection, purpose, and meaning matter most. Your work leaves a lasting impact.

We see you. We appreciate you. We are grateful, always. πŸ’™
