Are you interested in learning sewing skills and starting a journey toward self-employment or fashion design? Join our 5 days Basic Sewing Training designed especially for youth and women who are Not in Employment, Education and Training (NEET) situated in Cape Town.

The Asavela Peko Foundation is once again in collaboration with the Technology Station Clothing and Textiles and powered by the Technology Innovation Agency to create this meaningful and life changing opportunity for the most vulnerable and needy people from our surrounding communities regardless of race, culture, gender and circumstances.

✨What will be learnt on the training:

1. Introduction to industrial sewing and overlock machines
2. Basic stitching techniques
3. Measuring and cutting fabric
4. Making simple garments and alterations
5. Clothing repairs and finishing skills
6. Beginner fashion and design basics

πŸ‘©πŸ½β€πŸ« Who can apply?

a). Youth and women aged 18+
b). Beginners with little or no sewing experience (People who have done the training before will not be considered).
c). Individuals interested in skills development and entrepreneurship.

Certificate of successful participation will be provided upon completion of the 5 days.

πŸ›πŸš“πŸš» Access to justice: Pro bono - An opportunity for the people to access justice FREEπŸ«‚πŸ€²πŸŽ™| Ilitha Labantu in collaboration with The Master of High Court and The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development (DoJ & CD) will be hosted by Asavela Peko Foundation for the "Justice Access Week," whereby legal services will be rendered free of charge to the community residents and surrounding areas of the Delft community in the City of Cape Town.

In a multi-racial, diverse and advancely persued by many issues deserving of legal intervention the stakeholders have decided to render the underlisted major services.

βœ…οΈ Family Law: understanding family-related legal rights and obligations.
βœ…οΈ Deceased Estates and the Guardian's Fund: process for estate administration, children's inheritance rights, and guardianship support.
βœ…οΈ Wills (Testament and Intestate Succession): promoting the importance of drafting wills and clarifying succession rights.
βœ…οΈ Elderly Rights: protecting and upholding the rights of older persons within families and communities.
βœ…οΈ Bail Conditions: clarify procedures, rights and responsibilities linked to bail.
βœ…οΈ Protection Orders and Monitoring Tool: supporting survivors of violence in navigating protection mechanisms.
