Just to "remind us exactly why we do what we do".
Cat Angel Refuge T/a Angels Refuge SA, we are so grateful for your tireless work in the very vast area that you serve.
Massive respect and thank you!

Some sterilisations are just amazing. 🐾❤️

Today we met a little family of three in Henryville, and honestly, these are the sterilisations that remind us exactly why we do what we do.

This family came to us thanks to the GARC rabies training and practical work we completed onsite in Henryville.

And what makes this particular family so special?

🐱 1. The cats are absolutely amazing.
Healthy, happy and clearly very well cared for.

🏷️ 2. The two girls wear collars and tags.
Their owner told us that he makes sure they wear them so people know they have a home and know not to hurt them.

🏠 3. They have a litter tray, an outdoor house and sleep inside at night.
They have safe spaces both indoors and outdoors, and when night comes, they come home.

❤️ 4. They are SO, SO, SO loved.

And that last one is perhaps the most important thing of all.

This is what responsible ownership can look like.
This is what community work can look like.
And this is why sterilisation isn't just about preventing unwanted litters.

It's about healthier animals, informed owners, safer communities and changing the future one animal at a time.

And now...

We enter a new area of Henryville to start doing sterilisations. 🐾

This work is only possible because of the National Sterilization Project, who have placed their faith and trust in us to reach the communities we serve. And every single person who donates to them.

And a MASSIVE thank you to Marico Bosveld Diere Kliniek for doing our steries and helping us make this work possible. ❤️🐾

We truly appreciate the care, time and support you put into helping us sterilise these animals and prevent unwanted litters.

They don't just fund sterilisations.

They help us open doors.

And behind every door is another animal whose life we can make better.

We are delighted to announce our F2 (FELINE FIX) project for the Zonstraal Military Base in Mpumalanga, on the border of Swaziland. This is for the TNR sterilisation of their resident feral and community cats.

On-site Chaplain Jaco Venter (who initiated this project) is leading the charge and is presently enlisting troops to assist with the identification of each colony.

Cat traps are on the way to Zonstraal and NSP has funded the medical costs for sterilisations which will be conducted by the State Vets in the area, who have happily come on board.

We are hoping that this will become a working model for other military bases but obviously with the buy-in of ‘top brass’, available funding and participation of State / other vets.

Pretoria Animal Buddies is already attending to and having great success with the Defence Works Training School in Pretoria, as part of NSP’s F3 project for TNR in The City of Tshwane.

That is 2 notches on our ‘army’ belt!
