What happens when people who care about water get in a room together?

You connect. You listen. You share ideas, stories, questions and possibilities. And sometimes, you discover just how much more is possible when we do it together.

On 30 July, we gathered at Villa Viva in Cape Town for Viva Connect — a day of conversation, collaboration and connection with the partners who help make our work possible.

Because water is bigger than any one organisation. And creating a world where everyone, everywhere has access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene will take all of us.

Different people. Different skills. Different perspectives. One shared commitment.

All in for water. 💧

Come notice the water in my world 🌍
Today I gave myself Permission to imagine.
To mix, shape and colour my world.
To speak through a paintbrush and tell my own story.

In Bulungula, surrounded by Xhosa village life, jojo tanks, red earth, and ocean skies..myself and four beautiful local artists spent a few days creating, laughing, learning..

Beads became people.
Paint became stories.
And Water, well, the Possibilities are ever flowing.

The Viva con Agua Cape Town team spent a week in Germany learning, sharing and getting inspired! A major highlight? Visiting GoBanyo, the Hamburg-based shower bus initiative that helped inspire Nina Manzi in the first place. 🚿

Now we’re back in SA with fresh ideas as we continue building on the 20,000+ showers we’ve already provided to people experiencing homelessness.

And yes, there was plenty of team bonding, good food, city exploring and an epic event along the way. A week well spent 🫶

This week at Thembani Primary with Soccer Buddies x Football4WASH ⚽️

We’re making hygiene lessons a little more fun, using the universal language of football to teach kids why washing their hands matters and how it can help prevent illness.

Because when you can learn it, play it and have a good time doing it… it sticks. 🇿🇦
