💧 WATER IS POWER 💧

As an amputee, especially if you use a wheelchair a lot, staying hydrated is about so much more than quenching your thirst.

Drinking enough water can:
✅ Improve circulation and reduce swelling
✅ Help prevent dehydration, fatigue, and headaches
✅ Support healthy digestion
✅ Assist muscle function and reduce cramps
✅ Help regulate body temperature
✅ Support overall health, recovery, and wellbeing

Many wheelchair users are at increased risk of dehydration because they may not always feel thirsty until they are already dehydrated. Making water a daily habit can help you feel stronger, healthier, and more energized.

Simple tips:
💙 Carry a water bottle with you
💙 Sip regularly throughout the day
💙 Aim for 6–8 glasses of water daily
💙 Don’t wait until you’re thirsty

Your strength moves you. Water keeps you going.

Diabetes is one of the leading causes of amputations in South Africa — but many amputations can be prevented through early detection, education, and proper foot care. 💛

Checking your feet daily, wearing proper footwear, and seeking medical attention early can make all the difference.
