THE FOUNDATIONAL CONCEPTS

VALUE
Building self-esteem by understanding the intrinsic value of the woman, man or youth as a
dynamic human being. The focus of these sessions is for each person to understand their
value, celebrate their uniqueness and know that they are wonderful creations. “ *I have*
Value!” Mind, Body and Soul, I am wonderfully made.

CONFIDENCE
Building resilience through problem solving skills, making healthy choices and managing
emotions. The concept enables the person to understand how the power of choice and
decisions can shape their futures. These topics are covered through practical sessions about
feelings, willpower, convictions, boundaries and respect. “I have Confidence!” Choose life.

POTENTIAL
Building on the other two aspects of value and confidence and using them as a foundation to
encourage women, men and youth to discover their potential and pursue their hopes and
dreams. The focus of this session is for each person to understand their purpose, to help them
set goals, discuss talents and hidden potential. The sessions are filled with practical activities
that will enhance confidence.
“I have Potential!” I have hope for my future.

A Huge THANK YOU to Our 3R Family 💖👑

What an unforgettable day! On 13 December 2025, the 3R Foundation hosted our 7th Annual Christmas Princess Appeal Celebration Party, and thanks to YOU, it was filled with colour, laughter, and so much love.

Because of your generosity, we were able to dress close to 200 amazing girls from communities across the Cape Flats, stretching from Mitchells Plain to Ocean View. Our princesses were absolutely spoiled — from sparkling tiaras and clothing gift bags to themed princess cupcakes, party packets, hotdogs, akni, and refreshing cooldrinks. Add in jumping castles, face painting, and nonstop smiles, and you can imagine just how much fun was had!

A very special shout-out goes to Cathi Evans of Merry Pop-Ins (Bree Street, Cape Town) — a true 3R champion who has been part of this journey since Year One. Her ongoing generosity, including the donation of beautiful branded clothing, continues to bring dignity, confidence, and joy to our girls year after year.

We also want to say a big thank you to Shafiek Davids of SBC in Westridge for opening his doors and his heart by donating the venue, akni, and cooldrinks, helping us create such a warm and welcoming celebration space.

To every friend, family member, volunteer, and partner who donated, helped, shared, served, or supported in any way — we could not have done this without you. You helped us create a day where every girl felt special, celebrated, and reminded that she truly matters.

✨ Pay It Forward – 2026 ✨
As we look ahead to 2026, we invite you to walk this journey with us. If you would like to partner with the 3R Foundation — whether through donating, volunteering, or supporting our initiatives — we would love to hear from you.

📞 Contact Jacky directly on 082 305 3615 for more details on how to get involved and be part of the impact we’re making in our communities.

Together, we didn’t just throw a party — we created memories, restored confidence, and crowned nearly 200 princesses 👑✨
And with your continued support, we can do even more in 2026.

With love and gratitude,
The 3R Foundation

04/11/2025

Dear Custodial Parent,

Did you use your child’s phone today to text the other parent, pretending to be them, just to get a little reaction?

Did you scroll through messages that weren’t yours, or “accidentally” reply, because you couldn’t stand the silence?

Did you deny visitation again, knowing the other parent had plans, then tell your child, “See? They didn’t show up again”?
Did you let your frustration over money or support payments become the story your child hears instead of love?

Did you sign your child up for activities on the other parent’s weekends… not for opportunity, but for control?

Did you tell your child, “They don’t really want you,” when the truth is you’ve made it nearly impossible for them to show up?

Did you move farther away, just to make it harder for them to be present, then tell everyone it was “for a better life”?

Did you tell your child stories that made them scared to go, or too guilty to want to?

How many times have you said “I’m protecting my child” when really, you were protecting your pride?

And when the other parent finally stopped fighting, when they got tired of defending themselves, tired of the constant chaos, tired of watching their child suffer in between….
did you tell everyone they gave up and called them a DEADBEAT?

Did you make sure the world knew you’re the one who stayed?

Because the truth is…
sometimes the parent who walks away didn’t do it out of neglect, they did it out of heartbreak.

Sometimes they stopped showing up because showing up meant walking into a war zone every SINGLE time.

& If this hits a nerve, maybe that’s because a part of you knows some of it might be true.
And that’s okay, awareness is where change begins.

Because this isn’t meant to attack you. It’s meant to make you pause. To look at the situation not through anger or ego, but through the eyes of the child caught in between.

It’s not too late to rewrite the story.
It’s not too late to unlearn the pain that got you here.

Children don’t need one “good” parent and one “bad” one.

They need two parents… healing, healthy, and capable of putting love before ego.

If you’re standing in the way of that, you’re not protecting them.
