Rise & Lead âď¸
Meet Amber â¨
Her journey didnât start with a clear plan, it started with uncertainty.
Growing up between Hout Bay, Retreat, and Lavender Hill, Amber experienced the same challenges many young people face - limited resources, unanswered questions, and no clear direction after matric.
After finishing school, she spent two years working in retail, trying to figure out what her future could look like. It wasnât easy, and it wasnât linear, but she didnât stop searching for more.
That turning point led her to pursue a Bachelor of Pharmacy at UWC, where she studied through NSFAS funding, covering her tuition, transport, and textbooks.
Today, Amber is a qualified pharmacist, ensuring patients receive safe, accurate treatment every day.
But her journey didnât just shape her career - it shaped her purpose.
Amber knows what it feels like to be unsure, to feel stuck, and to not have guidance. Thatâs why she became a mentor at NexGen Leaders Foundation, to be the support she once needed.
She is here to guide, uplift, and remind young people that their circumstances do not define their future.
Because sometimes, all it takes is one person to show you whatâs possible. â¨
