From war zones to women's health, stimulant use to HIV prevention, this year's plenaries bring together some of the most important conversations in drug user health.

• Monica Gandhi – HIV Treatment and Prevention for People Who Use Drugs: Clinical Advances and Implementation Science

• Annie Madden AO – Beyond Participation: Leadership of People Who Use Drugs in Research and Evidence Generation.

Each year, INHSU's plenary and invited speakers are selected through a multi-stage program development process involving our Program Advisory Committee, conference committees and Conference Executive Committee. Priority topics are identified first, followed by speaker recommendations and voting based on expertise and fit.

This year, that process has led to something worth celebrating. It reflects the extraordinary expertise, leadership and innovation women are bringing to some of the biggest conversations in drug user health today.

Chaired by Michel Kazatchkine (Global Commission on Drug Policy), this panel brings together case studies from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Colombia and Canada, exploring how different countries are responding to political pressures while continuing to advance harm reduction and rational drug policy.

• Dan Ciccarone (University of California) will explore the evolving overdose crisis in North America

• Magdalena Bartnik (PREKURSOR Foundation) will share insights into overdose responses in Poland and across Eastern Europe

Together, they will examine how overdose risks are evolving across different regions, what responses are being implemented, and what we can learn from approaches developed in different contexts.

• Gregory Dore (Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney) on what is working in hepatitis C elimination, and the innovations that could help us reach the finish line

• Nittaya Phanuphak (Institute of HIV Research and Innovation, Thailand) on strategies to support integrated responses to infectious diseases.

That's the message from Galya Walt, one of our inaugural INHSU U.S. Fellowship recipients.

As a PhD student at Brown University School of Public Health, Galya is exploring how research and healthcare systems can better support women through pregnancy and parenting - shifting the focus from surveillance to support.
