Across the world, women are driving change in harm reduction, advocacy and drug user health. The Jude Byrne Emerging Female Leader Award exists to support and celebrate that leadership. Congratulations to this year's recipients: Yarelix Estrada and Rita Musa.

Developed by INHSU and the INPUD, the award provides recipients with a nine-month mentorship through INPUD and a full scholarship to attend INHSU 2026 in Prague.

This year, we received 37 applications from around the world, reflecting the passion, talent and commitment of emerging leaders globally.

Congratulations again to Yarelix and Rita. We look forward to welcoming you to Prague this October.

There is not long left to submit your abstract for INHSU 2026.

We are seeking original research that advances the health and quality of life of people who use drugs, across a broad range of topics beyond hepatitis C.

We particularly encourage abstracts on:
• Prevention, testing and treatment of viral hepatitis, HIV and other drug-related harms
• Overdose prevention
• Harm reduction for stimulant use
• Public health policy, service delivery and innovative healthcare interventions
• Models of care and effective program delivery for marginalised populations, including women who use drugs, people experiencing homelessness, migrants and Indigenous peoples

Submissions addressing specific sub-populations or focused on low- and middle-income country settings are strongly encouraged.
