Thanks to the generous support of De Beers, we are offering a fully sponsored Young Biologist Course. Learners will discover South Africa's incredible marine biodiversity through hands on activities, build leadership skills, meet like minded young conservationists, and explore where a future in marine science or environmental conservation could lead to.💙

Successful participants may also be considered for volunteer opportunities at the Two Oceans Aquarium, subject to successfully completing the Volunteer Induction Course and operational requirements.

On Saturday, our Ocean Campus team, volunteers and supporters came together for the final FNB-sponsored beach cleanup, working together to care for our coastline and help prevent marine litter from reaching the ocean.

🗑️ 54.94 kg of waste collected!

Every piece of litter removed is one less potential threat to marine life and our coastal ecosystems. 🌊🐚

A big thank you to FNB for sponsoring this cleanup and to everyone who gave their time and energy to make a difference. Your support helps us continue creating opportunities for people to take action for our ocean and coastline. 💙

Marine Sciences is an official National Senior Certificate subject for Grades 10 to 12. We’re proud to share that Wild Waterfront has been officially selected for the 2026 Mpumalanga International Film Festival (Miffsouthafrica). 🎬

Produced by the Two Oceans Aquarium Foundation's Ocean Campus Studios in association with Film Cape Town , the documentary follows the people working behind the scenes to protect wildlife and respond to animals in distress across Cape Town’s busy waterfront.

The film will screen as part of MIFF’s WildMarket Africa programme, alongside productions from South Africa and around the world exploring wildlife, biodiversity and conservation.

The Introduction to Marine Science course gave learners a glimpse of what a future in marine science could look like. 🌊🔬

From career talks with Aquarium professionals, fish dissections, water-sample collection, and testing their findings, learners experienced the practical side of marine science firsthand.

To conclude the course, they presented their research to their classmates, sharing their hypotheses, results, and discoveries. It was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen their scientific thinking, build confidence, and explore the exciting fields of marine biology, oceanography, and ecology.

Who knows? The next generation of marine scientists may have been inspired! 💙🐠

The future of ocean conservation starts with inspiring young people. 🌊

Our recent High School Volunteer Course gave learners the opportunity to discover what it means to be a volunteer at the Two Oceans Aquarium. From learning about fascinating marine animals and sea plants to completing practical oral assessments at the Touch Pool and Microscope exhibits, learners gained valuable knowledge and hands-on experience while building their confidence.

We are incredibly proud of each learner who took part and are excited to welcome our newest volunteers! We can't wait to see the passion, curiosity, and enthusiasm they'll share with our visitors as they become ambassadors for our ocean.💙
