City of Cape Town advises of critical electricity maintenance in Woodstock, Salt River and Observatory in October

The City’s Electricity Generation and Distribution Department advises residents in parts of Observatory, Salt River and Woodstock of infrastructure maintenance taking place in the area. The work will take place on Friday, 4 October 2024 from 20:00 to 08:00 or alternatively on Friday 11 October 2024, from 20:00 to 08:00, depending on weather conditions. The City apologises for any inconvenience this may cause. Read more below:

Should the electricity not be restored within communicated timeframes, residents are advised to check the City’s official communication channels, including the City’s social media channels, or contact the Call Centre before logging a service request in relation to the planned upgrade work.

Some news channels could imply that this work affects all areas in the city. This is not true. The work will be carried out in the Observatory and surrounds only.

The infrastructure maintenance will take place on:

· Friday, 4 October 2024 from 20:00 to 08:00 or Friday, 11 October 2024, from 20:00 to 08:00.
