The OPEC-Africa Roundtable is coming to , bringing together OPEC leadership and African producers to align on capacity expansion, investment coordination and downstream operations.

With Africa home to six of OPEC’s 11 member states, approximately 120 billion barrels of proven oil reserves and around 8% of global crude supply, the continent has a critical role to play in meeting growing global energy demand.

The roundtable will explore production discipline, downstream capacity, coordinated engagement within the OPEC+ framework and how African producers can strengthen energy security while turning rising global demand into lasting economic value.

OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais will attend and engage directly with Africa’s producers, investors and policymakers.

Nigeria’s energy companies are stepping up and Heirs Energies and Oando Plc are at the forefront of the country’s next chapter of upstream growth.

At , senior executives from both companies will share insights into the strategies, investments and operational expertise driving the expansion of ’s indigenous upstream sector.

Since taking over OML 17, Heirs Energies has grown production to more than 50,000 barrels per day, increased natural gas output to 135 million standard cubic feet daily, and secured a $750 million reserve-based lending facility to support its ambition of reaching 100,000 bpd.

Meanwhile, Oando has strengthened its upstream portfolio following the acquisition of Nigerian Agip Oil Company, adding operatorship of OMLs 60, 61, 62 and 63.

Together, their participation highlights the growing role of indigenous companies in developing Africa’s energy resources, attracting capital and building competitive energy businesses.
