21 March 2026. The Portuguese Dance Society ( Cape Town and Johannesburg) danced in the BORBOLETA Pod in the Cape Town Carnival. We danced with pride as we showed our Portuguese culture to the community. Another great memory made as a group, as friends, as family!

In 2023 the Portuguese Dance Society of Cape Town and the Portuguese Dance Society of Johannesburg and Pretoria joined in Madeira to take part in the Madeira Carnival on 18th February as the Portuguses Dance Society of SA, thanks to the iniative of Octavio Henriques. 3 years later, on 21 March 2026, Johannesburg and Cape Town came together again as one Portuguese Dance Society to take part in the Cape Town Carnival. Friendships that were made in Madeira were reignited, and new friendships were made. From rehearsals, to sharing meals, singing in the taxis to Greenpoint, waiting to have our make up done, lots of fun and laughter was shared. Awesome memories were made! The Portuguese Dance Society of Cape Town was asked to perform at the Portugal Day Regata Dinner at the Royal Cape Yacht Club on Saturday, 7th June 2025.
It was an evening of fun, laughter, and making great memories.
Let's get bigger! If you are interested in joining our Society we practice every Thirsday at 18h30 in Parow.
We are also aiming to have our own group at the Cape Town Carnival in March 2026. But, we cannot do it without you!

40 Portuguese ladies and gentlemen from the Portuguese Dance Society of Cape Town took part in the Cape Town Carnival on Saturday. 15th March 2025. It was a day of fun, laughter, building friendships, showing our pride in being Portuguese and making memories. We thank Victor Henriques for all the hard work in teaching us the choreography and to each one who came to cheer us on, A BIG THANK YOU! We look forward to a stronger Portuguese representation in the 2026 Cape Town Carnival.
