On youth day 16 June 2025 the Klapmuts Development Forum KDF hosted to events to remind our Klapmuts youth why we celebrate youth day today.
The events was hosted at the Klapmuts Community Multi-purpose Centre where 148 participants attended. Our very own ward councillor welcomed everyone with a short motivational speech.
The message was clear - Keep your dream alive. Amongst our guest speakers was local heroes that form part of the Klapmuts Community Anneline Crown a paramedic that serve our community with such pride and love.
Mr Rodney Zimba a winemaker at Klein Goederust in Franschoek who is also a proud Klapmuts resident also motivated the young people by sharing his story - from humble beginnings to wine maker and he strongly beliefs, that everyone deserves a second chance in life. We could not agree more.
The Klapmuts E-Centre manager also addressed the youth by sharing the various programmes they offer at the E-Centre followed by Klapmuts Development Forum Chairperson Mr Elliot Mbikwana and Vice Chairperson Michelle Maluqua who shared some career tips with the youth and shared their life journey.
Local radio presenter Armstar and artist from Cape Winelands FM entertained our youth with a live performance and also supplied the sound for the event along with one of our local DJ's Badrudeen Fredericks who also supported the event by donating his sound and microphone as well.
At the end of the programme the youth received some warm soup, a sandwich and snack sponsored by the Klapmuts Development Forum, the ward Councillor JC Anthony, local businesses, MJ Events and Hiring and JM Tinting and Glass Repair
Thanks to all the role players that showed up for our Youth. May you always be blessed.
