*DAILY TIME WITH GOD DEVOTIONAL*

*"True Fasting, True Freedom"*
*Scripture:* Isaiah 58:1-14
*Reflection:* God's heart is for a genuine relationship with us. True fasting is not just about rituals, but about surrendering our hearts, seeking justice, and caring for the marginalized. When we do, we'll experience breakthroughs, healing, and freedom.
*Fasting... means,to separate yourself from carnal things*
Isaiah 58:6-7 (NIV) says, "Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clade them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?"
*It's one thing to fast, and it's another thing to fast God's way*
*"We'll surely have answers if we fast or pray in God's way "*
They were fasting, singing and praising God but without positive response from Heaven, I mean without positive answers. The situation was enough to discourage them but they decided to ask why and they got the answer 👇
*"They were doing the right thing the wrong way ".*
*Prayer:* Lord, help me to seek You above all else. May my worship be authentic, and may I be a light in the darkness. Give me the courage to stand for justice, to care for the poor, and to love the marginalized. Amen.
*Today's Truth:*
When people pray to God for help, God looks out to a generous person, I mean,a willing heart to use. A generous person is the one God is using, not living his own life but God's life.
*Reflection Questions:*
1. How can I prioritize seeking God above all else?
2. What are some practical ways I can care for the marginalized and stand for justice?
3. How can I surrender my heart and worship God authentically?
