Restoring Mr Booysens Eyesight

Mr Booysen, who is 2 months away from turning 80, was referred to us by Eerste River Hospital.

His visual acuity in both eyes was Counting Fingers.

Unfortunately we we were not able to assist him with his left eye, which has retinal damage and very significant scarring from previous cataracct surgery.

BUT, we were successful in fitting his right eye with a taking his vision up to 6/19.

We are hopeful that in wearing the lens and with a few tweaks to his first lens, we can get an extra line from him on the eyechart at his follow up consultation.

It was such a delight seeing how motivated he is and he expressed profound for all the donations which made this possible.

Please continue to support our mission to fight avoidable

Without your help, we could not have helped Mr Booysen.

We have a long waiting list of patients needing our help, and we can only do our work with your support.

Much gratitude and love always.

The Eyes2Eyes team.

Gratitude 🤍

We are so grateful to Social Development Projects and We Are Africa for their incredible donation towards the cost of restoring Siyanda's eyesight!

With Siyanda's advanced which makes his sclera and cornea very uneven, we were unable to fit standard customised scleral lenses.

This image shows an imprint being taken of Siyanda's right eye. This mould will be used to design and manufacture Eye Print Pro scleral lenses, which will restore Siyanda's sight to fully functional

Siyanda will be able to resume his studies, see his son's face again and venture forth into the world with such good eyesight that he can even apply for a driver's license.

This is truly miraculous and we are so happy that Siyanda can start life over again as a sighted individual and pursue his dreams.

None of this would be possible without the support of Social Development Projects We Are Africa

Happiness is!

Seeing the world again through clear corneas!

So grateful to our donors who made Ayesha's sight restoration possible!

Going from a severe visual@impairment to near perfect vision is miraculous!

We can only help our patients with YOUR love and support. Every cent counts.

Please donate tonight at www.eyes2eyes.org.za so we can help the next patient on our waiting list.

Try to imagine your days without eyesight! What would you do? How would you cope without a job, without being able to walk to the shops, cook your food and communicate with those around you.

Sight loss is so much more than losing vision - it robs you of independence and leads to serious mental health issues.

Be a hero today and join our fight for the right to sight!
