Today, as we stand with the Women for Change movement, I honour the memory of my cousin Stacey—a bright, innocent 13-year-old girl whose life was taken far too soon.

For years, our family fought to protect her. For years, the system failed her. And on the 30th of August 2001, we lost a beautiful soul who deserved safety, childhood, and a future filled with dreams.

Stacey never had the chance to grow into the strong woman she would have become—but her story is part of why we fight for change today.
Her memory reminds us why we speak out.
Why we stand together.
Why we demand justice and protection for every women and children.

Today, we honour Stacey not just in grief, but in purpose.
Her light continues to guide us.
Her name continues to inspire us.
Her story continues to change us.
