*Calitzdorp:Local drug action committee:*

On 9 June 2026 Calitzdorp Saps had partnered with different roleplayers to form the Local Drug Action Committee(LDAC)
Captain Mtanda the station commander of Calitzdorp Saps said"Subtance abuse is not a distant problem,it us a reality within our homes, our streets, and our shared spaces it tears families and communities apart" Therefore we need an Intergrated response to this crisis.

Mr J Douw was elected as chairperson of committee.
Stakeholders are Saps,DsD,Hope centre, Calitzdorp CPF,Calitzdorp soup kitchen, Oasis,Exelcior primary school, Calitzdorp high school,Faith based organizations and local residents.

These organizations will pull there resources and services together to render a more integrated service to Calitzdorp residents.
Other organizations, individuals are more then welcome to join.

*Calitzdorp Saps:Flood warning*
- *Don’t drive through water*: 15cm can float a small car. “Turn around, don’t drown.”
- *Don’t walk through flood water*: It can hide open drains, snakes, live wires. 30cm of moving water can knock an adult over.
- *Keep kids + pets inside* and away from rivers, storm drains, canals.
- *Avoid contact* with flood water - it’s contaminated with sewage, chemicals, etc.
Stay safe — water rises faster than most people expect.

Sgt Barry made a "Bully day" presentation to 450 primary school children, on the subject of bullying as part of the “Safer Schools” program

Sersant Barry het 'n "Boeliedag"-aanbieding aan 450 laerskoolkinders oor die onderwerp van boelies gemaak as deel van die "Veiliger Skole"-program.

*Calitzdorp CPF Special AGM*
Election of new Chairperson

The Calitzdorp executive committee held a special AGM to fill the recently vacated post of chairperson

In attendance were the station commander capt Mtanda with warrant officer Opperman as acting Vispol commander from the district office, who oversaw the proceedings
Eight community organisations established a quorum and the elections were pronounced to be free and fair

Ms M Bosch-was elected as Chairperson to be assisted by the newly elected deputy chairperson mr C Prince

We wish the newly elected members strength and wisdom in their tasks

Calitzdorp Saps together with Public order Police continued, successfully squeezing the space for drug dealers in Calitzdorp over the weekend.
They will continue to fight this evil in our community that is providing a market for stolen goods eg. Municipal infrastructure,stolen house hold items, etc

*Calitzdorp Saps:Operation Paseka*

Calitzdorp Saps together with Calitzdorp Neighborhood whatch started the Easter weekend with “OPERATION PASEKA”.
a Parade was conducted starting with a prayer.
Captain Mtanda,station commander addressed the parade outlining the operations objectives,targets and expected outcomes.He placed strong emphasis on alertness during roadblocks,teamwork and personal safety.
The operation is designed to create more visibility and roadsafety over Easter period.
This integrated intelligence driven Operation demonstrates the SAPS commitment to asserting the authority of the State and keeping Calitzdorp community safe

Tiener Swangerskap voorligtings projek

Daar was n suksesvolle “Tiener Swangerskap” inligtings vergadering gehou.

Die organiseerders se baie dankie aan AO Claassen van SAPS, Calitzdorp dagkliniek personeel en die Christian Desk.
Dit was ‘n suksesvolle gemeenskapsprojek van die Feeding Scheme.

Baie dankie ook aan die vir hul ondersteuning en teenwoordigheid.
