Dear Residents of Burgersdorp

We have decided to write to you as individuals and as members of different formations, from church leaders, leaders of political parties, sport bodies and other social movements.

The is no smart way to communicate this message but to say our town and it's people we are under a dark cloud ☁️. Kuthiwa walila umzi akatyiwa mhla kwanduluka u Tshikane. eBurgersdorp sikhalile after the brutal death of a 4 year old having been r***d by a grown man. We made noise on the social media as we should have but the out cry was on followed by an action from an angry community.
We as men are failing females because it is becoming normal to hear of our mothers, wife's, girlfriend, sisters and daughters being sexual assaulted by men and we as men keep quiet and turn a bland eye.
This one should at least have angered us as men to a point that we take visible action that this will not happen in our name as men. This should have angered our mothers, wife's, girlfriend, sisters and daughters to a point that they publicly demand us to take action to make sure that this doesn't happen again but we are all quiet as if nothing has happened.
We are going on with life as if it's just a normal festive season or have we reach a place that a brutal r**e of a four year old is a normal thing.
The Why am I here foundation will soon unveil an action plan and it calls upon members of the community to fully participate in the number of activities that are aimed at dealing with this sickness especially men.

I read this and I decided to shared with you ❤️

One evening my mother made dinner after a hard day's work. She put a plate of eggs, salad and burnt toast in front of my father ...

I immediately noticed, the burnt toast .... And, I was waiting to see if he was going to complain about it, but my father started to eat them, smiling and asked me how I spent my day at school ...

My mom apologized to my dad for the burnt toast. I will never forget his response to her: "Honey, I love burnt toast!"

Later when I went to bed and my dad came over to kiss me goodnight, I asked him if he really liked the burnt toast?

He hugged me and said, "Your mother has had a difficult day and she is really tired. She went out of her way to prepare this meal for us, why blame her and hurt her.
Burnt toast never hurt anyone; but words can be very painful! "

It's winter and it is heart breaking to see kids going to school bare footed or with torn uniform.
The Why Am I Here Foundation is collecting, and will be distributing school shoes again this winter.
Anyone and everyone who is interested or want to land a helping hand by donating school shoes or uniform is welcomed, your contribution torwads keeping the young warm will be appreciated.
These kids are the future leaders, let us positively contribute to their lives ♡♡
