ILGM wishes to congratulate Institute of Municipal People Practitioners of Southern Africa (IMPSA) on hosting its 41st conference currently in progress at EL ICC, Eastern Cape. It is during this conference that Cogta announced IMPSA as its official launch partner for the Reviewed White Paper in Local Governemnt that will be launched on the 22 October. The official launch video was short during the conference. This recognises the vital collaborations between professional associations and government and equally opens a path for further collaboration opportunities in future.

RECENTLY HELD : ILGM EASTERN CAPE BRANCH MEETING

The Institute for Local Government Management (ILGM) Eastern Cape Branch Meeting was recently held, chaired by the Provincial Chairperson, Mr Mkhululi Nako (Mbhashe Local Municipality MM).

The meeting is deliberating on key sector matters including:

Overview
of the Institute's current standing, activities and challenges in the Eastern Cape; Strategies to increase and retain ILGM membership; Discussion on the status and practical implementation of the Gazette on Upper limits for senior managers; Preparations and processes leading up to the Local Government Elections; Briefing on the expected El Niño weather impact and municipal readiness and get an update on preparations for the upcoming ILGM National Conference.
